New England elements: towering lighthouses, quaint homes with gray shingles, families having clam bakes on the beaches, cobblestone streets, and more. From Nantucket and Cape Cod to Martha’s Vineyard, New England is where America’s yachting tradition began many years ago. Here is a 7-day yacht charter itinerary we have for you.

Day 1: Newport

Start your yacht charter in Newport, which is known as New England’s sailing capital. Take a local harbor tour, and let yourself be taken back by the island’s historic waterfront and its beautiful views, or get a taste of New England’s delicious cuisine at a restaurant on Bannister’s Wharf. Amidst a stunning backdrop of Newport mansions, shops, and landscapes, you will see yachts scattered on the ocean in New England summers.

Day 2: Cuttyhunk Island & Block Island

Head to Block Island and enjoy the low-key atmosphere. While there, take in the area’s laid-back vibes and white-sand beaches, or take a bike ride along stone walls that have been erected for centuries. Take a sail on the south end of Cape Cod, a little longer to Cuttyhunk Island. There is wonderful hiking, lots of photo stops, and remote locations where you can relax, unwind, and nap. With stunning Vineyard Sound beaches

Day 3: Martha’s Vineyard

Martha’s Vineyard is at the top of everyone’s list when taking a yacht charter up the New England coast. With its lighthouse entrance and picturesque and charming town, this is a popular destination for many U.S. Presidents to vacation. Spend your day shopping, taking a bike ride, walking along the beach, or eating at one of Edgartown’s delicious restaurants.

Day 4: Nantucket

Quintessential is the “New England” feel Nantucket gives visitors. It’s filled with sea-weathered buildings, cobblestone streets, plenty of quirky shops and haunts, and popular local museums like the Toy Boat and the Whaling Museum – the latter o which boasts a stellar collection of classic wooden floatables. Sunset views are the best you’ve ever seen at White Elephant Hotel’s Brant Point Grill, a popular restaurant. You could spend a day or two exploring the historical museums and galleries of Nantucket.

Day 5: Provincetown, Cape Cod

Rise early and make your way to Provincetown, in Massachusetts. As you drink your morning coffee or tea, you can take in the beautiful views you’ll see on your journey. Once anchored, explore this historic New England town known for its over-the-top street scenes, nightlife, and vast beaches. You must go for a whale watch while there – it’s one of New England’s best things to do.

Day 6: Elizabeth Islands- Hadley’s Harbour

The Elizabeth Islands is a small group of islands that extend southwest from Cape Cod. These islands sit just north of Martha’s Vineyard. Hadley’s Harbour is very protected and an attractive anchorage in the cruising ground south of Cape Cod, making it a great stop on your New England yacht charter.

Day 7: Newport

Back in Newport – your starting point. Take in the Gilded Age of the New England views and weather along the way and when you anchor. Enjoy lunch in town at the Clarke Cooke House or the White Horse Tavern, or enjoy lobster rolls and bisque at The Newport Lobster Shack.

Anywhere you go will be a treat! May through to October, when the summer breeze is at its best in terms of reliability and strength.
