Arrive in Nassau, and have lunch. Depending on arrival time, leave for Highbourne Cay.
After breakfast, move to Shroud Cay. We will spend the day exploring the mangroves via tender, float down the lazy river and climb the nearby hill, which offers a view of the whole island and anchorage. This is a great spot for watersports and exploring beaches.
After a meal, we’ll move to a picturesque bay called Waderick Wells. After lunch, we’ll take the tender ashore and do a walk/hike around the national park. Along the way, we will take a look at the whale skeleton on the far end of the beach, snorkel the coral gardens ( if the tide is right), and relax on the sand bar- with a Captain’s Cocktail at low tide..
After a cup of joe, we’ll move to Big Majors, visit the swimming pigs and take the tender to “Thunder ball grotto” to snorkel the caves after lunch. If desired, we can then visit Staniel Cay Marina, where we can have lunch or dinner ashore either at Staniel Cay or Fowl Cay.
We will start the day moving to Cambridge Cay. In the afternoon, we will travel in the tender to the natural aquarium next to Johnny Depp’s island, where we will snorkel with the fish as well as explore the plane wreck. We can do a sunset cruise to Compass Cay and explore the Marina as well as visit the nurse sharks.
After breakfast, we will depart Cambridge and head to Normans Cay. Normans Cay used to be part of the Medellin Cartels smuggling operation, and Carlos Lehder’s plane wreck can be explored and snorkeled. At sunset, we will anchor near Allens Cay.
Once done with breakfast, you can feed the resident iguanas that inhabit the island and explore the anchorage North of Highbourne, where lots of sand dollars can be found. Depending on flight times, we can either remain at Allens Cay for the evening or move to Rose Island for the night, where there are sea turtles, some great snorkeling spots, and amazing beaches.
It’s a bite for breakfast,
then off to catch your flight home.

If You Love Lake Life, Here’s Why You Should Take a Holiday Yacht Charter Vacation in the Caribbean
For those who revel in the serene beauty and relaxed atmosphere of lake life, the Caribbean offers an extraordinary opportunity to take your love for water-bound vacations to an entirely new level. Picture the idyllic days spent on a tranquil lake, now enhanced with the turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and vibrant marine life of the Caribbean. Here’s why a holiday yacht charter in the Caribbean is the perfect upgrade for any lake life enthusiast.
1. Explore a Vast and Vibrant Playground
While lakes provide a wonderful escape, they are often limited in size and scope. The Caribbean, on the other hand, offers a sprawling playground of over 7,000 islands and cays, each with its own unique charm. From the bustling beaches of the Bahamas to the secluded coves of the British Virgin Islands, a yacht charter allows you to explore a diverse range of destinations, each more beautiful than the last.
2. Crystal Clear Waters and Stunning Scenery
Imagine the clear waters of your favorite lake, but even more vibrant and teeming with marine life. The Caribbean is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, where visibility often exceeds 100 feet. These pristine waters are perfect for snorkeling, diving, and swimming. Plus, the breathtaking scenery—think lush green hills, volcanic peaks, and endless stretches of white sand beaches—creates a stunning backdrop for your holiday.
3. Luxury and Comfort at Sea
Yacht charters in the Caribbean are synonymous with luxury. Unlike the often rustic charm of lake houses, yachts come equipped with modern amenities and top-notch facilities. Enjoy spacious sun decks, plush cabins, gourmet kitchens, and even on-board spas. Many yachts also include a professional crew, so you can relax and enjoy personalized service, from delicious meals prepared by a private chef to expert navigation by your captain.
4. Endless Water Activities
While lake vacations offer a range of activities like boating, fishing, and swimming, a Caribbean yacht charter takes these to new heights. Dive into the vibrant underwater world of coral reefs, try deep-sea fishing, or enjoy water sports like paddleboarding, jet skiing, and windsurfing. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, simply lounging on a floating mat in the warm Caribbean waters is a joy in itself.
5. Discover Unique Island Cultures
One of the most exciting aspects of a Caribbean yacht charter is the chance to experience the rich and diverse cultures of the islands. Each destination boasts its own unique traditions, cuisine, and history. Savor fresh seafood with a Creole twist in the Grenadines, dance to the rhythmic beats of calypso music in Trinidad, or explore the colonial architecture of San Juan, Puerto Rico. The cultural diversity of the Caribbean adds a fascinating dimension to your vacation.
6. Perfect Weather Year-Round
One of the biggest draws of the Caribbean is its consistently warm and sunny climate. Unlike many lake destinations that have a limited season, the Caribbean offers beautiful weather year-round, except for Hurricane season which runs from August until November. Whether you’re escaping the winter chill or planning a summer getaway, you can count on warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, making it an ideal holiday destination at any time.
7. Unmatched Privacy and Tranquility
Just like the peaceful solitude of your favorite lake spot, a yacht charter in the Caribbean offers unparalleled privacy and tranquility. Anchor in a secluded bay, far from the crowds, and enjoy the serenity of your surroundings. With the gentle sway of the boat and the soothing sounds of the ocean, you’ll find a sense of peace that’s hard to match anywhere else.
Elevate Your Holiday Experience
For lake life enthusiasts, a Caribbean yacht charter vacation is a natural next step. It combines the best aspects of lake vacations—nature, relaxation, and water activities—with the added benefits of luxury, adventure, and exotic locales. If you’re ready to elevate your holiday experience and create unforgettable memories, a yacht charter in the Caribbean is the perfect choice.

What to Tip on a Yacht Charter Vacation: A Guide to Showing Your Appreciation | Songs In The Sails
Embarking on a luxury yacht charter vacation is an experience like no other. The sun-soaked decks, crystal-clear waters, and impeccable service create memories that last a lifetime. But as your unforgettable journey comes to an end, one important question arises: what should you tip the crew? Understanding the tipping etiquette on a yacht charter ensures you show your appreciation for the hardworking crew who made your trip extraordinary. Here’s a guide to help you navigate the tipping waters.
1. The Standard Tip
In the world of yacht charters, it’s customary to tip the crew at the end of your trip. The industry standard in the Caribbean ranges from 15% to 25% of the total charter fee (not your Advanced Provision Allowance or Tax) In the Mediterranean the standard is 5-10% These are scaled up or down according to how you feel the service you received was. You will give this to the Captain at the end of the week to share among the entire crew, including the captain, chef, deckhands, and steward/stewardess, depending on the size of the crew.
2. Service Quality Matters
The quality of service you receive can influence the amount you tip. Did the crew go above and beyond to cater to your needs? Were the meals exceptional, and was the service attentive and friendly? A higher tip reflects your appreciation for outstanding service and attention to detail.
3. Communicate Preferences
Before your charter begins, we will discuss tipping expectations with you. In our final details you will know in what forms the crew can accept tips. We all understand you do not want to carry a large sum of cash around. This conversation helps set clear expectations and ensures everyone is on the same page.
4. Show Your Appreciation
Remember, your tip is a gesture of gratitude for the crew’s hard work and dedication. These professionals often work long hours in challenging conditions to make your experience seamless and enjoyable. A thoughtful tip acknowledges their efforts and enhances the positive atmosphere on board. It is ignorant to think that just because a crew makes a living wage from an owner, they do not deserve a tip for their service to you. Tip your crew according to the service you received.
Tipping on a yacht charter vacation is more than just a customary practice it is also mandatory and in many of the contracts you sign; it’s a meaningful way to show your appreciation for the crew’s exceptional service. By following these guidelines and communicating openly with your broker, you can ensure your gratitude is conveyed appropriately.
